Our client is a leading foreign based conglomerate, with offices in over 20 locations and almost 7,000 staff worldwide. Due to an expansion of the Mainland operations, they are looking to hire a strong and competent Head of Corporate Tax.
Lead China Corporate Tax function including Tax Planning and Tax compliance Implementation and Administration. Work collaboratively with China Legal team, Corp Finance team and Group Finance team to establish China Tax strategy in order to optimize legal structure to minimize effective tax and reduce the complexity in maintain tax compliance.
• Optimize structure of tax efficient group
• Formulate tax planning strategies
• Minimize effective tax rate (ETR) & Cash tax        
• Advocate / lobby favorable fiscal policies & regulations
• Provide tax support for business expansion plan and M&A activities
• Tax efficient China expatriation & cash mobilization
• Share tax compliance best practices with SBU
• Identify, assess, and manage Tax risk identification
• Support in all tax authorities audits
• Conduct tax health check review
• Establish inter-company charges arrangement
• Assess and minimize withholding tax (WHT)
• Lead transfer pricing review & documentation        
• Support in FX settlement in related with inter-company cross-charge
• Support in tax returns reviews & compliance
• Build SBU tax capability and deliver tax training / education • BA degree in Accounting, Legal or related field
• Chartered Accountant or Lawyer
• Min. 10 years of extensive Corporate tax experience in multinational companies, with multi-entities and JV structure in China
• Min. 3-5 experience in senior management Excellent analytical skill and modelling skills with extensive hands-on experience
• Solid knowledge in regulations, tax and accounting in related to tax locally and internationally
• Broad understanding and management experience in finance, accounting, treasury, internal control, and maintaining relations with regulatory bodies and authorities in China
• Multi-culture exposure
• Strong initiative / improvement mindset in driving business agenda and delivery results
• Able to set Corporate tax strategy based on business strategy and communicate the business vision effectively to all within the organization
• Strong team builder and motivator
• Make timely decision in the face of challenges
• Skilful at facilitating the open exchange of ideas and knowledge sharing, creating a culture of open, honest communication
• Priority setting and ability to handle multiple priorities
• Good time management and timely following up on all business matters
• Strong and proven leadership skill set is a plus
